Hello All,
Kayla was wonderful in her very first Ballet Recital!! We posted a video we took at her dress rehearsal on You Tube. Because there is music in the background (the song Kayla's group danced to is "Baby Mine" from "Dumbo") the audio track was stripped in fear of copyright infringement.
If you'd like to listen to the version with audio click on the link below:
Kayla's First Recital Video (w/audio)
May all of the credit that could possibly me bestowed upon an artist, the record company and any other entity that may feel slighted by our three year old daughter dancing to your song in the background of a video be sent your way!! :)
We have also posted some pictures and video clips from the before and after of the recital as well as pictures from a recent camping trip at Jordan Lake in NC! (We would like to thank all of the trees and other elements of nature for posing in these pictures. All rights are reserved my Mother Nature who has granted us permission to use her likeness in all pictures - we asked her while we were there. There are also some sounds in the background of these videos such as bird calls, boat wakes on the lake and others that we have also received permission for recording.)

Jason's Trip to Asia (March 2009)
Hello Everyone -
Just got back from my third trip to Asia since July of last year. This time I spend two days in Taipei, three in Shenzhen, and one night in Hong Kong.
Everyone is always asking me to post some pictures of my trip so I brought my camera this time. However, it was cloudy and rainy the whole week so I wasn't able to get any good shots. So . . . using the powers of the Internet and by borrowing some other folk's pictures I have posted some pictures to show what I saw on my trip.
Unfoutunately all I really get to see are airports, hotels, and factories. Here and there in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen I catch a sight or two.
(Pictures above - scroll back up to the top)
Hope you enjoy them!

We've got some catching up to do . . .
Hello Everyone,
Well, it's been a while!! Apologies for the lack of updates from the Scimeca's. It has been a wild and crazy 2008. We have made some changes to our website so that it will be easier for us to post pictures, videos, and blog entries going forward.
So why don't I provide a little update on each of the Scimeca's for y'all to see:
Jason
Jason has a lot on his plate! He is working full time at Eaton as a Project Leader and has been to China twice with a trip planned in Early March to visit China and Taiwan! He is in his second semester at NCSU working towards his MBA and tries is hardest to spend time with his family (need work here!!). Jason turned 30 this past summer and Kimberly threw him a big surprise party that was tons of fun.
Kimberly
Kimberly makes Jason look like a lazy bum with the most difficult and important job of caring for Kayla and Matthew and our home 24-7!! Kimberly is also slowly building up a client base for her Interior Design business which she somehow finds time to run! Kimberly has also done a great job in taking care of herself after Matthew's birth and has lost over 4o lbs and is looking great! She has also taken a liking to camping and can't wait to pack up the family for a few trips this Spring and Summer.
Kayla
Kayla is learning every minute of the day! She attends ballet lessons once a week and will perform in her first recital this May with the Wake Forest Academy of Arts. She loves camping with the family and can't wait for summer to come so she can go swimming at the pool every Sunday!
Matthew
Matthew has been having fun being your typical almost two year old boy. A day doesn't go by without a new bump on his cute little head. He is learning new words every day and can hold a simple conversation, which is usually about food, tractors, or food - did I mention food?
Our Home
One room at a time - we have been decorating a lot this year. We love our new home, but there is one problem with a new home. It comes empty and lacks color. An Interior Designer doesn't like this very much and has been working her magic to bring life and warmth into our home. So far we have managed to complete the Kitchen and the Guest Bath Room and we are working on Kayla's room.
Well that's it for now. We will try to make the next posts more frequent and a bit shorter :)

What's new?
Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to say hello! Everything is going well here in Youngsville!
Matthew and Kayla are doing fine. Matt will be celebrating his first birthday next month and is crawling around and furniture walking. He tries to say a few words and has six teeth! He loves to eat, sweet potato fries are his favorite! Kayla is capable of carrying a very well structured conversation and doesn't mind starting them either. She loves playing princess and coloring. She is become a very good artist, just like her Mommy!
Kim is wasting away to nothing! She has been attending Weight Watchers and Curves and is down 30 pounds since September! We are all very proud of her!!
Jason is in the process of studying for the GMAT and applying to NC State to obtain his MBA! Wish him luck on his GMAT which will be taken on March 3rd @ 8AM! Jason will hopefully be attending State in the Fall of this year and should be wrapping up the MBA in the Spring of 2011.

That's it for now. As soon as Jason gets some free time after the GMAT next month he will be updating the site with new pictures and videos!!
Stay well,
The Scimeca's

What's new?
Hello Everyone,
Wanted to blog today to let everyone know what we have been up to!
The summer has been real hot and lots of fun, although we are looking forward to our first Fall in North Carolina. The Summer consisted of plenty of time spent at the pool and a couple trips out to the beach! Been working on the outside of the house, cut down some pines, had the backyard re-graded where the trees were, getting the lawn ready for lime, fertilizer, and then seed. We painted the garage and finished the attic for storage. Got a shed delivered, which we painted and built a ramp for. This winter we plan on having the inside of the house painted (can you say tax return!!) and will be tiling the kitchen back splash as well as incorporating some window treatments. The kitchen will be the first room to be fully decorated.
The kids are adapting very well, Kayla sleeps in her own bed in her own room and no longer needs her "binky" (pacifier)!! We are slowly introducing the potty and will keep you posted on that saga :) Matthew is growing into a little boy and loves his Mommy, he is a real "Momma's Boy" can't blame him there!! He has been trying solids such as fruits and vegetables and eats his milk all day long. He is sleeping through the night which has been great!
My job is great, really enjoy what I do and see a bright future for me here at Eaton!
Kim has started a Interior Design Company that specializes in Custom Window Treatments and Bedding. Check her out at http://www.windowelevations.com when you get a chance.
Well that's about it from our end!!

Pics of some projects around the new home to share . . .
Hello Everyone,
Kim and I have been working hard on a few projects around the new home.
We put some plywood down in the attic, painted the garage, and cleared some trees in the back to square off the tree line and make room for our new shed. We also got a new John Deere Lawn Tractor, check out the video section of our site for a cool video of Jason on the tractor and some of the tree removal process.
Talk to you soon,

Feeling at home in NC!!
Hello Everyone,
Wanted to share with everyone how things are doing since we moved.
The house is coming together nicely, yard is developing very well and Kim is turning the inside from a house into a home.
Kayla's birthday party is tomorrow, she is real excited about that! The new job is great, getting familiar with everything at Eaton and I am very happy with the company and the way they do things.
Keep looking for some major updates to the website!! I hope to have it up to date soon.
Until then,
